Mastering how to breath from the stomach
Lie on the floor, put a book on your stomach. Breath in- the stomach is inflated, the book rises. Breathe out- the stomach retracts, the book goes down. Do the exercise for five minutes until you master this technique.
This relaxed breathing technique is called “7-4-11”, and is performed lying on the floor (at first, until you learn to breathe with your stomach while sitting or standing). For control, it is recommended that you put your hands on your stomach.
1. Take a deep breath, silently counting to seven (7).
2. Hold your breath, counting to yourself until four (4).
3. Take a slow, long breath, counting to eleven (11).
Repeat exercise “7-4-11” for 5-10 minutes.
